Are you ready to try your hand at Among Us? This is a game in which a crew of 4-10 people tries to rescue their spaceship. The details depend a lot on the room settings, but the principle is always the same: players must complete a series of random missions. For example, fixing a mechanism, loading data, throwing out trash, shooting asteroids, redirecting the supply of electricity – everything is served through simple mini-games. And the whole thing would have gotten boring after a maximum of a dozen matches.
However, the developers came up with an ingenious move: one of the players (or two or three) is a traitor, or, as the game itself calls him, an “imposter”. They are unable to perform “normal” tasks, but instead can instantly deal with a gaping team member. To facilitate the task, the traitor is able to sabotage and block one of the compartments. He is also allowed to travel through the ventilation system, away from the watchful eyes of the party members.
An astronaut who notices something amiss (for example, a corpse in the corridor) can call an emergency meeting – however, when a body is found, the alarm is automatically triggered. And this is where the most interesting thing begins: everyone must decide by voting who should be considered a traitor. If consensus is reached, the victim is thrown overboard. And only after that, everyone else can find out whether the convicted person was really guilty. The traitor wins if he has time to finish off the entire crew. Astronauts win if they complete all missions on time – or find all the traitors. Unsurprisingly, most teams prefer to catch spies instead of cleaning and repairing.
Crime, anxiety, meeting, voting, punishment – all these parts of the gameplay never get boring. Green (the players have names, but everyone uses colors) claims to have seen Blue slaughter Red. Blue insists that Red died before his eyes, but Green dealt with him. Looks like one of them is lying, but who? Turquoise is almost sure that Orange went after the future victim, but Violet insists that Orange didn’t leave him a single step. Yellow was seen near the ventilation grate, Pink immediately ran in the opposite direction from everyone, and Black is just some kind of suspicious. Who are we going to vote against? That’s what you have to decide playing Among Us online! Make your choice wisely!
